94_Sidekick

Here are some photos of the 1994 Suzuki Sidekick I'm selling. I've owned it since August of 2004, and put about 30,000 miles on it in that time, not really going anywhere but to work and back.

The body is in good shape; there is some body rot in the rocker panels, but it's pretty much invisible with the plastic rocker covers Suzuki used on these cars. I took the covers off last fall, cleaned the rust up as best as I could, sprayed Rustoleum primer on it, then sprayed some heavy-duty undercoating over it. It should last a while, but at some point the rust will become an issue.

The interior is nearly perfect. Small spot on the side bolster of the driver's seat shows some cracking and wear where it gets rubbed as I enter the vehicle. Nothing major though.

Most everything works. The exceptions: AC has a leak in the condenser (in front of the radiator); I'm an open-window guy for the most part, so that's never bothered me enough to want to get it fixed. The Check Engine light is on right now, but it still runs and drives fine. The trouble code says that the problem is something to do with the EGR system. I've been troubleshooting it here & there, but haven't been able to fix it, but since it continues to run well and give decent gas mileage, it hasn't been a high priority for me.

The new items on the car: Tires, replaced October, 2006. Battery, replaced October 2008. Plugs, wires, distributor cap, fuel filter, all replaced Summer 2008. Brakes, replaced March, 2008. Clutch cable, replaced spring 2008. New starter, September, 2005. New belts, 2007.

All in all, it's a nice little vehicle that's great for running around town. It can be a bit of a handful when you drive it on the highway when it's windy, but not too bad.

If you'd like to take a look, email me, or call me on my cell phone — 605-759-7850 — and we'll set up a time. I can be available most any time either at work during the day or at home in the evenings/weekends; just call.

Interior - driver's seat. No tears in the cloth seat bottom or back, but the vinyl on the side bolster near the door frame does show some cracking and wear.

Interior - back seat. Perfect.

Door frame over wheel well. Can't see it well in the small photo, but the enlargement shows a little rust peeking through the paint. This area was sanded down, primed and repainted with an undercoating-type paint. Obviously needs a little more work.

Instrument cluster showing mileage; 106,283. It turned over to 100k on Jan. 1, 2008. When I bought it in 2004 it had about 75k on it.

This isn't the radio that it will be sold with; I'll swap it out with a Pioneer AM/FM/CD unit with removable faceplate.
